Chieko Sasaki (66yrs old) makes and sells her own sake alcohol, under the labelling name of 'Hakuro', in Tohoku, Japan, on Tuesday 24th July 2012. Sasaki-san is an evacuee from Iitate village, which she had to leave in May 2011 due to the fall out of nuclear radiation contamination from the March2011 Fukushima Dai-Ichi nuclear disaster. Sasaki-san has been using the last of her stock supply of Iitate rice, from 2010 harvest before the nuclear explosion, to make her current batch of sake alcohol. Her next batch of sake will be made from rice that comes from Aizuwakamatsu, an area unaffected by the nuclear radiation fallout. Sasaki-san calls her sake 'Hakuro', named after a God in the shrine in her former home village of Iitate.
