Homeless people pay 980 JPN Yen to use a booth in MangaPlaza internet cafe, where they then spend the night, using it as accomodation, in Ikebukuro district of Tokyo, Japan, Tuesday, Aug. 21st, 2007. Shot shows homeless man in his 70's, name withheld, shuffling along a corridor of internet booths in the MangaPlaza Internet Cafe, the man usually lives in a park but has been spending the nights in this internet cafe due to the extreme heat at present in Tokyo and also due to number of mosquitos in the park. Within the internet cafe the customers have unlimited number of cold and hot drinks, and access to Manga comics, newspapers and magazines. A new government report says there are 5,400 people living in internet cafes, with thousands more who spend part of the month, a few nights of the month, living in the 24hour cafes.
