2008 Papua New Guinea, 'Paradise Lost'. (12/62)

Logging in the Cape Orford logging concession, near Pulpul village, East New Britain Island, Papua New Guinea, Monday 22nd September 2008. The logging in this concession is run by Malaysian giants company Rimbunan Hijau. Chainsaw operator is Emmanuel Kauval, from East Pomio. He has ben an employee of Rimbunan Hijau for ten years, and has never been provided with safety clothes/boots/ googles or ear protection for his work, he gets paid 0.8PNG Kina per cubic metre of wood cut.
